Free Consult: I like to speak with potential clients first, before scheduling any appointments. Talk to me a little. I need to know who you are, what you want, how you plan to cover services, and if I am the right provider for you. Sometimes, people need different services than I provide, and I don't mind helping point you in the right direction. I can be contacted by e-mail only, at this time.
Availability: Contact me so we can discuss scheduling or other options that may be available to you. If you need crisis or urgent care, try your local emergency room, or North Central Human Services walk-in triage clinic (701-857-8500). You are encouraged to use national hotlines when in crisis, but if this is an emergency, call 911.
Finances: The first session (the intake session) costs $230. Subsequent sessions vary between $130.00 and $200.00. Credit cards are accepted (Master Card, Visa, Amex, Discover). I accept clients who pay cash - payment is expected prior to services. Other fees may apply.
Insurance: I do not accept insurance.
Confidentiality: I respect your verbal, written, and electronic communication and will strive to maintain your confidentiality as prescribed by ethical standards and legal requirements. However, there are limits to confidentiality and here are some examples: If you are a danger to yourself or others, if I become aware of or suspect child abuse or neglect (or vulnerable adult abuse or neglect), or if I am court ordered to testify or submit records to the court.
Electronic Communication: The client or a potential client may wish to call, text, leave messages, or e-mail, and may wish to have this therapist return calls/messages. The client may wish or need to use telehealth (distance counseling via audio/video link together). This therapist recognizes the risks/benefits, and cautions individuals to consider the risks and benefits of engaging in the use of technology, the possibility of technology failure, and cultural or language differences. Please consider the limits of confidentiality when using technology, such as who else may have access to the phone, computer, or email, for example.
Informed Consent for TELEHEALTH Services:
Informed Consent: This is a process whereby you (the client) and I discuss possible risks and benefits as a result of therapeutic services. It's an ongoing discussion and it includes a variety of topics such as risks and benefits to counseling, available services, referral options, case closure, treatment planning, fees, use of technology, my training and qualifications, possible outcomes of services, and other topics for which you might have queries, for a few examples. You, as the consumer, have choices and rights - and it is important that you understand them.
Session Length: Regular sessions are about 45-50 minutes long. (Session times may vary depending on the nature of the session, generally, the longer the session, the higher the rate.)
